FFRF’s National Radio Venture

News that the Freedom From Religion Foundation launched its weekly Freethought Radio program nationally over the Air America network in October brought predictable coverage from FOX-TV News.

Several flatteringly lengthy segments aired on FOX in October, including detailed analysis by FOX’s religion anchor and others, with captions such as “Shocking Program” and “War on God.” MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann got into the act by rating FOX News “second worst” for its spin on one of his daily broadcasts.

Freethought Radio, which is hosted by Dan Barker and Annie Laurie Gaylor, streams live Saturdays from AirAmerica.com at 1-2 p.m. Eastern, is aired by most affiliates at that time, but broadcasts from New York City and Channel 167 XM Satellite 7-8 p.m. Saturdays. It broadcasts from its origin of Madison, Wis., Saturdays at 11 a.m. Central. More than 21 Air America affiliates are broadcasting Freethought Radio, making it the first time a freethought radio program has been available nationally. If you have an Air America affiliate in your area, please call now to request that your station carry programming that for the first time is “devoted to the undevoted,” or to thank your station for airing the program.
