FFRF hosts five annual essay contests for high school, college, grad school, law school, and first in the family college students.

FFRF bestows a variety of awards to honor freethought or state / church activism, including the Emperor Has No Clothes Award, Clarence Darrow Award, Forward Award, Student Activist Awards and Freethinker of the Year.
