FFRF hosts five annual essay contest for high school, college, grad school, law school and students of color as well as a contest in Puerto Rico.

FFRF bestows a variety of awards to honor freethought or state / church activism, incluidng the Emperor Has No Clothes Award, Clarence Darrow Award, Forward Award, Student Activist Awards and Freethinker of the Year.
