Choices About How We Use and Disclose Your Information

We strive to provide you with choices regarding the Personal and Non-Personal Information. We have created mechanisms to provide you with the following control over your information:

  •  Tracking Technologies and Advertising. You can set your browser to refuse all or some browser cookies, or to alert you when cookies are being sent. If you disable or refuse cookies, please note that some parts of this site may then be inaccessible or not function properly.
  • Opt-out. If you do not want to receive marketing communications or other materials from us, you may opt-out, by sending an e-mail to contact us. If you sign-up for one of our newsletters, you may unsubscribe by clicking the ‘unsubscribe’ link in each communication.
  • Accessing and Correcting Your Personal Information. You may also send us an email at contact us to request access to, correct or delete any Personal Information that you have provided to us. It may be that we cannot delete your Personal Information except by also deleting your membership in the Foundation. We may not accommodate a request to change information if we believe the change would violate any law or legal requirement or cause the information to be incorrect.

Residents of certain states, such as California, Nevada, Colorado, Virginia, and Utah may have additional personal information rights and choices. We will respond to verifiable requests received from consumers from these states as required by law.

Security Measures. FFRF uses industry standard security measures to protect Personal Information. All Information collected through end-user input forms, such as the membership sign-up, goes through SSL (Secure Sockets Layer). SSL establishes an encrypted link between the browser and FFRF’s web server, rather than sending the Information in plain text, so that those Information are not vulnerable to being intercepted and used by an attacker. The Website also has a web application firewall, including the administrative portion of the site. This helps prevent the site from being hacked and allowing hackers to gain access to users’ personal information. All credit card information is transmitted directly to the payment processor and not stored by FFRF in any way. While FFRF works diligently to protect your Information, and while such security measures provide reasonable protections against unauthorized access, they provide no absolute guarantee that your Personal Information will not be compromised, for example, due to an illegal hacking attempt.

Children Under the Age of 16. The Services are not intended for children under 16 years of age. No one under age 16 may provide any Personal Information on the Services. We do not knowingly collect Personal Information from children under 16. If you are under 16, do not use or provide any information on any of the Services. If we learn we have collected or received Personal Information from a child under 16 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information. If you believe we might have any information from or about a child under 16, please contact us at contact us.

The Services may contain hyperlinks to websites, apps, or social media platforms that are not operated by FFRF. These hyperlinks are provided for your reference and convenience only and do not imply any endorsement of the activities or security measures of these off-site websites or any association with their operators.
