Celebrate FFRF's 30th Annual Convention in October!

Great news! FFRF has unlimited space for convention-goers! Most of the convention events will now take place at the Frank Lloyd Wright Monona Terrace Convention Center in downtown Madison, close to the Concourse Hotel. Registration has re-opened! FFRF is now able to accommodate all-comers, is accepting Saturday dinner reservations and has space at its Non-Prayer Breakfast (the breakfast is still taking place at The Concourse Hotel).

The 30th annual national FFRF convention meets the weekend of Oct. 12-14, 2007, at the Concourse Hotel, 1 W. Dayton St., Madison, Wis.

The conference begins with an Open House and refreshments from 2-4:00 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 12 at Freethought Hall, FFRF's office in downtown Madison, 4 short blocks from the Concourse Hotel.

The convention formally opens at 7 p.m. Friday at The Concourse Hotel, 1 West Dayton St., continues through Saturday, and concludes by noon following the membership and Board of Directors meeting on Sunday.

The impressive roster of speakers for the conference includes: Iconoclastic journalist Christopher Hitchens, author of the bestselling God Is Not Great; comedian Julia Sweeney ("Letting Go of God"); The Nation's "Subject to Debate" columnist Katha Pollitt; columnist Stephanie Salter; "Toons 'N Tunes" featuring the combined artistry of editorial cartoonist Steve Benson and songwriter and FFRF co-president Dan Barker; "Champion of the First Amendment" Ellery Schempp (Supreme Court victor), and student activist Matthew LaClair.

The optional 8 a.m. Saturday "Non-Prayer Breakfast" ($20 per person) is a full breakfast buffet. The 6:30 p.m. Saturday dinner ($35) is chicken. A "chef's choice" vegetarian option is available. The conference breaks at noon for lunch on your own or sightseeing, and resumes at 2 p.m.
