The Freedom From Religion Foundation is offering viewers a freethinking musical special on its Christmas Sunday “Freethought Matters” television show.

Steve Martin, a freethinker himself, once humorously wrote a song, “Atheists Don’t Have No Songs” — a joke belied by the many musical moments from past “Freethought Matters” TV programs that we’re offering you. We invite you to sit back and enjoy this special broadcast. Featured are: jazz great Ben Sidran, folksinger Kristin Lems, Madison’s talented vocalist Susan Hofer, former minister-turned-atheist Carter Warden — freethinkers all! The show is hosted by FFRF Co-President Dan Barker, a songwriter/piano player whose musical talents are also part of the show.

If you don’t live in the quarter-plus of the nation where the show broadcasts on Sunday, you can watch the program on FFRF’s YouTube channel. New shows go up every Thursday. You can also receive notifications when we post new episodes of “Freethought Matters” by subscribing to the playlist on FFRF’s YouTube channel.

Upcoming shows spotlight 11-year-old Elle Harris, author of Elle the Humanist, Texas anti-book ban activist Adrienne Martin and musician Andre Forbes. This fall season already contains must-see interviews with bestselling award-winning author John Irving, “Star Trek” actor John “Q” de Lancie, acclaimed thinker Professor Daniel Dennett, Texas iconoclast Jim Hightower, leading constitutional abortion rights expert Professor Geoffrey Stone and atheist Washington Post columnist Kate Cohen.
