Religious poster removed from California school (December 2023)

A religious poster in the San Bernardino County School District in California has been taken down after FFRF took action. A community member reported that a display at Colin L. Powell Preschool included multiple bible verses hanging in the school’s front office. The display contained 26 verses, one for each letter of the alphabet. FFRF Staff Attorney Chris Line wrote to Superintendent Ted Alejandre asking him to take action. The district responded: “As of Sept. 27, 2023, the poster has been permanently removed,” the district stated. Additionally, the district is providing staff training to promote a more inclusive environment in the future.
