Illinois —
A concerned community member informed FFRF that the O’Fallon, Ill., post office had a large banner reading “Jesus is the reason for the season” at the entrance.
“United States postal regulations prohibit the display of religious materials, other than stamp art, on postal property,” FFRF Patrick O’Reiley Legal Fellow Hirsh M. Joshi wrote to Postmaster Cleveland T. Williams.
A month after FFRF’s letter, Williams emailed back, writing, “that signage was immediately taken down after some concerns were brought to my attention.”
