As the winter solstice approaches, we celebrate not only the return of light after the darkest day but also the shining beacon of freedom—the Bill of Rights, adopted on December 15, 1791. Just as the solstice symbolizes renewal, the Bill of Rights protects our most fundamental freedoms, including the vital separation of church and state.
The Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF) promotes the constitutional principle of separation of state and church and educates the public on matters relating to nontheism.
FFRF is on the front lines, fighting to preserve democracy and resist theocracy through litigation, education and advocacy. We work to eliminate the dangers at the heart of these assaults and defend your rights. Join us in this crucial fight to keep religion out of government and protect our freedoms.
