August 9, 2023 — Barbara Alvarez to Speak at the New Jersey NOW, Alice Paul Chapter (St. Louis, Missouri)

On June 24, 2022, the U.S. Supreme Court repealed Roe v. Wade, undoing a nearly 50 year precedent. However, it was a long process to get to this place. In Barbara’s presentation, she will discuss how abortion became illegal, efforts to further erode abortion, and the process toward legalization. Barbara is a PhD Candidate at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is a contributing writer to FFRF and the author of The Library’s Guide to Sexual and Reproductive Health Information. The presentation wil be open to the public and will also be on Zoom.
