‘We Dissent’ explains important Supreme Court case

The most recent episode of the “We Dissent” podcast focuses on a Supreme Court case with potentially worrisome implications for transgender rights. 

On Episode 38, FFRF Deputy Legal Director Liz Cavell and Americans United Legal Director Rebecca Markert discuss Skrmetti vs. U.S., which is considering whether Tennessee’s total ban on transgender medical care for minors violates the 14th Amendment’s Equal Protection Clause. They explain what the oral arguments last month revealed and the stakes for the real people affected by the court’s decision.

“We Dissent,” which first aired in May 2022, is a legal affairs show for atheists, agnostics and humanists, offering legal wisdom from the secular viewpoint of women lawyers. The show is a collaboration of the Freedom From Religion Foundation and Americans United.
