‘We Dissent’ examines Catholic public charter school Supreme Court Case

The latest episode of “We Dissent” tackles the third in the “unholy trinity” of religion-related cases from the current Supreme Court term.

On Episode 43, FFRF Deputy Legal Director Liz Cavell and Americans United Legal Director Rebecca Markert take a look at the St. Isidore v. Drummond case, which sought to create the nation’s first Catholic public charter school. They explain how the case came to be, what the oral arguments revealed, and the high stakes of the case for our public school system.

“We Dissent,” which first aired in May 2022, is a legal affairs show offering legal wisdom from the secular perspective of women lawyers. The show is a collaboration of the Freedom From Religion Foundation and Americans United.
