Trijicon, the company that manufactures the sight scopes for the U.S. Marines and Army has agreed to discontinue inscribing biblical citations on its products used by the U.S. military. Please see the ABC News story on this here. The company is also providing kits to the military to scrub off the citations already in place. Gen. David Petraeus, quoted in the article, said the revelation about the inscriptions was "disturbing . . . and a serious concern for me" and field commanders. The article continued that Petraeus "said there had been considerable discussions within the Department of Defense about how to deal with Trijicon's practice." Thank you for taking the time to write letters to military leaders over this deeply disturbing practice. It pays to complain!
