FFRF Sunday TV guest an inspiring political advocate for ‘Nones’

The Freedom From Religion Foundation’s Sunday TV show guest has made it his lifelong goal to have the voices and opinions of the “Nones” be heard in the political arena.

Ron Millar is political coordinator for the Center for Freethought Equality, a nonprofit that advocates for atheists and the nonreligious community. Millar, who has a Ph.D. from Virginia Tech, has worked for more than 40 years for nonprofit education and advocacy groups in the nation’s capital with the endeavor of increasing the representation of humanists, atheists, agnostics and freethinkers in political campaigns and among elected officials. He formerly served as deputy director of the newly created Secular Coalition for America. Millar is also a lifetime member of the Freedom from Religion Foundation.
“When I first took on this job at the Center for Freethought Equality, we knew of five state legislators who identified with our community,” Millar tells “Freethought Matters” co-hosts Dan Barker and Annie Laurie Gaylor. “Now, we’re up to 75, and that’s a nice increase. But we need another 1,500 to reach parity with our population.”

If you don’t live in the quarter-plus viewership of the nation where the show broadcasts on Sunday (see below), you can already catch the interview on FFRF’s YouTube channel. New shows go up every Thursday.
