The bill, HB 1577, would require physicians who prescribe abortion pills to inform patients about so-called “abortion reversal procedures,” which the American Medical Association (AMA) has called “a patently false and unproven claim unsupported by scientific evidence.” One study of “abortion reversal” medication had to be stopped prematurely when 25 percent of the participants had to be rushed to the hospital due to severe vaginal bleeding. Legislating medical procedures based on this pseudoscientific dogma could have potentially deadly consequences.
Shockingly, this bill has already passed out of its state Senate committee and will next be heard by the full body.
