A dangerous bill is headed to Idaho Gov. Brad Little’s desk next Monday, March 2, to be signed into law. This bill, S. 1249, authorizes an official “Choose Life” license plate in the state of Idaho.
If passed, a portion of the purchase price for each plate will go to Choose Life Idaho, an anti-choice religious group that is instructed to use the funds to support so-called “life-affirming” crisis pregnancy centers.
Crisis pregnancy centers are anti-science clinics that disseminate erroneous and misleading information about abortions to dissuade women from accessing one. Some women are led to believe that they are seeing a licensed medical provider when they are, in fact, being peddled anti-abortion propaganda by religious charlatans.
Please contact Little and urge him not to sign this bill. Taxpayer money has no business funding this religious mission through an official relationship with a state agency. Click on the red “Take Action!” link below and feel free to use or adapt the talking points provided.
