Tell Gov. Lee to rescind Day of Prayer Proclamation

Gov. Bill Lee has designated this Friday, Sept. 30, as a “Day of Prayer, Humility, and Fasting” for Tennesseans. Please take a moment to contact the governor with our automated system and tell him to rescind this improper and offensive proclamation.

FFRF sent Lee a letter about the proclamation. In the letter, Co-Presidents Dan Barker and Annie Laurie Gaylor inform the governor that he does not speak for all Tennesseans when he says that “we” acknowledge God’s sovereignty and ask for God’s forgiveness. The letter also educates Lee about the importance of a secular government, which protects the rights of conscience of everyone rather than favoring those who share the governor’s personal religious beliefs.
