The Foundation’s summer 2008 legal intern, Sarah Braasch (left), a recent graduate of Fordham Law School, is pictured in November in Paris with Lubna Hussein. Hussein is the defiant feminist journalist convicted in September of “public indecency” in Khartoum, Sudan, for wearing trousers. She was spared a sentence of flogging. Hussein, seeking to challenge the Islamic law, was arrested in July and had faced 40 lashes, drawing an international outcry. Sarah is the James E. Tolan International Human Rights Fellow at Ni Putes Ni Soumises (Neither Whores Nor Submissives) in Paris, France.
