
Nancy attended the University of Wisconsin – Madison for both her undergraduate and law degrees. She started her career as a commercial litigator for a large law firm in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. While there, she worked on a variety of cases, including the first ever actuarial malpractice case to be tried to a jury. She continued to develop her trial skills as an Assistant District Attorney for Milwaukee County, where she prosecuted cases ranging from domestic violence to violent gun crimes. Later, as an Assistant Attorney General for the Wisconsin Department of Justice, Nancy primarily handled appellate cases. In that capacity, she briefed almost 300 cases and argued 8 cases before the Wisconsin Supreme Court. More recently, Nancy served as attorney with the Crime Victims’ Rights Project at Legal Action of Wisconsin, where she assisted crime victims to assert their rights in criminal proceedings and to address related issues like housing, child custody, and the protection of private mental health records and similar information. Nancy joined FFRF as a staff attorney in January 2025.
