Jesse Card, of Everett, Washington, received a variation of the Student Activist Award in July 2004, when he was named “Young Activist” at the Pacific Northwest Mini-Convention of the Freedom From Religion Foundation in Seattle. Jesse is the sole plaintiff and original complainant in a federal lawsuit filed in July 2003, challenging placement of a Ten Commandments monument near city council chambers 55 years ago by the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Everett.
