The Freedom From Religion Foundation is paying farewell tribute to Trevor Noah, the departing host of “The Daily Show,” by airing its iconic Ron Reagan commercial during his final week.
The 30-second spot, featuring Reagan as a self-described “unabashed atheist … not afraid of burning in hell,” will play during the Comedy Central program 11 p.m. Eastern this Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Noah’s run as host began in September 2015. He announced in October that he was stepping down from the position after seven years, and this week will be his last.

Reagan says in the ad:
Hi, I’m Ron Reagan, an unabashed atheist, and I’m alarmed, as you may be, by the intrusion of religion into our secular government. That’s why I’m asking you to join the Freedom From Religion Foundation, the nation’s largest and most effective association of atheists and agnostics, working to keep state and church separate, just like our Founders intended. Please join the Freedom From Religion Foundation. Ron Reagan, lifelong atheist, not afraid of burning in hell.
“We’re grateful to Ron for helping to make FFRF a ‘household name,’ and to all the individuals who have joined FFRF as a result,” says FFRF Co-President Dan Barker. “The ad has run on some truly landmark programs, including ‘The Daily Show’ during its final Trevor Noah days.”
As funds have permitted, FFRF has run the ad on MSBNC’s “Rachel Maddow Show,” on CNN during the 2020 Democratic presidential candidate debates, as well as on CBS news shows.
The Freedom From Religion Foundation, a state/church watchdog, is the country’s largest freethought organization, with 38,000 nonreligious members and 23 chapters all across the country.
