FFRF Ron Reagan ad returns to ‘Daily Show’

The Freedom From Religion Foundation’s classic Ron Reagan ad is making a post-Thanksgiving comeback to “The Daily Show.”

The television commercial, in which he describes himself as “unabashed atheist, not afraid of burning in hell,” will air on Comedy Central’s program on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights for two weeks beginning today, Monday, Nov. 27,  and ending on Wednesday, Dec. 7.

Reagan says in the ad:

Hi, I’m Ron Reagan, an unabashed atheist, and I’m alarmed, as you may be, by the intrusion of religion into our secular government. That’s why I’m asking you to join the Freedom From Religion Foundation, the nation’s largest and most effective association of atheists and agnostics, working to keep state and church separate, just like our Founders intended. Please join the Freedom From Religion Foundation. Ron Reagan, lifelong atheist, not afraid of burning in hell.

FFRF is truly appreciative of Ron Reagan, who due to his appearance in the ad has helped spread the word about the state/church watchdog in a tremendous way.

“The commercial has gotten an amazing response through its numerous airings,” says FFRF Co-President Dan Barker. “So many people have been aware of our work and mission because of it — and become FFRF members as a result.”

As funds have permitted, FFRF has run the ad on MSBNC’s “Rachel Maddow Show,” on CNN during the 2020 Democratic presidential candidate debates, as well as on CBS News and late-night shows.

The Freedom From Religion Foundation is the country’s largest freethought organization, with 40,000 nonreligious members and several chapters all across the country
