TAKE ACTION: Urge legislators to vote “no” on a mandatory national motto in schools bill

Benson IGWT Schools Web

Please take a moment to ask the West Virginia Senate Education Committee to vote “no” on SB 251.

This is a bill that would require public schools to display the national motto “In God We Trust.” FFRF has previously challenged the motto from appearing on currency and in public schools due to the inherent religious nature. The motto is a clear attempt to prime children into believing America is a theocratic nation. While politicians continue to insist there is no religious intent behind the motto, a captive audience won’t be able to tell the difference.

This harmful bill is coming to a vote on Tuesday, Jan. 24, so please take action today. You may either use the prompt provided, or customize it as you see fit. For best results, please be succinct and polite.
