Paul J. Gaylor (“Jody”), 84, died on May 5, 2011, of brain cancer. He was married for 61 years to Anne Nicol Gaylor, FFRF president emerita. Jody was a member of the Board of Directors and previously served on FFRF’s governing Executive Council. He was a plaintiff in FFRF’s ongoing challenge of the National Day of Prayer.
Jody was the principal FFRF volunteer for its first 20 years — opening mail, filling book and sales orders, and was legendary for surprising staff with freshly baked cookies. A retrospective will run in the next issue. Cards or notes may reach Anne c/o FFRF, PO Box 750, Madison, WI 53701.
