Staff Attorney Patrick Elliot will debate Friar Daniel Griffith on the topic of whether religous organizations should retain tax-exempt status under federal law. The debate will take place on May 2, 2017 at Church of the Holy Family, located on 5900 W Lake St., St. Louis Park, MN 55416. It will begin at 6 p.m. with food and drink, with the debate starting at 6:45 p.m. The event is organized by the Argument Club for Women, a civil and public forum for Christian apologetics on issues important for women.  Only women may attend.  The cost is $10 + an online processing fee at , or $12 at the door.

FFRF Staff Attorney Andrew Seidel will participate in Thomas Jefferson's Poplar Forest Salon Series on Thursday, September 22nd, from 6:30 p.m.- 8:30 p.m. at Poplar Forest, Thomas Jefferson's historic plantation (1542 Bateman Bridge Rd., Forest, VA 24551). The Salon will focus on a discussion of what freedom of religion meant to the Founding Father; trace the evolving relationship of church and state from Jefferson's day to our own; and consider why the statute continues to be relevant today.  A reception of wine and light appetizers is to follow the event.  The event is open to the public. Admission to this event is $15 (ages 18 and up), and $10 for college students.

FFRF Co-President Annie Laurie Gaylor will take part in the Northern Ohio Freethought Society's third annual Freethought Fiesta Fundraiser on Saturday, April 9th from 6:00 - 10:00 PM. The fundraiser will take place at the Lions Park Lodge ( 641 Silverlake Ave., Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221). A homemade dinner will be provided, with a taco/nacho bar with all the fixin's (including gluten free and vegan options), dessert, and drinks.  There will also be music provided by Dr. Elliot Ingersoll, Ph.D. and his band Svoboda.

Tickets are available for $20 in advance and $25 at the door, and NOFS members are able to purchase tickets for $15. Tickets for children (6-12) are available for $10 in advance, and $15 at the door. Admission is free for children under 6 years of age.
