Texas Governor declares 'Days of Prayer for Rain'

Texas Governor Rick Perry, who has issued some preposterous prayer proclamations in the past, has almost outdone himself declaring Thursday, April 21 to Sunday, April 24, as "Days of Prayer for Rain." Perry's worthless proclamation was executed as a "response" to recent droughts and several out-of-control wildfires in Texas.

To that, freethinker Mark Twain would say, "It is best to read the weather forecast before praying for rain."

Texas needs real solutions and real leadership — not theocratic calls for prayer!

Please contact Gov. Perry, expressing your dismay over this cop-out response to the unfortunate earthly problem of drought and wildfires. It would also be helpful to post comments against the proclamation on this news story from the Austin American Statesman.
