2000 Ruth ("Dixie") Jokinen Memorial
Gabriel Carlson, a recent graduate of the University of Minnesota, earned a degree in Religious Studies, Philosophy and Rhetoric. At the time he received his student activist award for his history of activism, he lived in Minneapolis, where he enjoyed urban spelunking and punk rock shows. Gabriel worked with the Campus Freethought Alliance and was an activist president of the University of Minnesota Atheists and Humanists.
He received his Student Activist Award/Ruth ("Dixie") Jokinen Memorial on Sept. 16, 2000, at the FFRF national convention in St. Paul.
