Help remove illegal creche in Athens, Texas

It has been almost one month since we wrote to Henderson County officials in Athens, Texas, about their illegal nativity scene on courthouse property. The unconstitutional creche still stands in defiance of the law while county officials refuse to hang FFRF's Winter Solstice banner among the other displays.

Last week Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott shared his support of the Henderson County nativity scene in an advisory letter to County Judge Richard Sanders. FFRF wrote a response letter to Abbott on Dec. 19, addressing his many unlawful recommendations.

Jumping on the bandwagon on Friday was Gov. Rick Perry. In a recent San Antonio Express article, Perry's office issued this statement, "Faith and freedom helped build this nation, and faith cannot and should not be removed from public life."

FFRF needs your help! Please write a concise, but strong email or letter to Gov. Perry educating him about the need to keep religion out of government.
