You are cordially invited to the Freedom From Religion Foundation's “Getting Acquainted” Luncheon on Sunday, April 19, at Restaurant Insieme in The Michelangelo Hotel, 152 West 51st Street, New York, NY 10019. This is FFRF's first-ever official New York City function.
The event will given area FFRF members a chance to meet each other. The luncheon will be hosted by Dan Barker & Annie Laurie Gaylor, FFRF Co-Presidents. Dan will speak briefly about his new book,
Registration is at 1:30 p.m., Mezzanine level. Lunch will be at 2 p.m. in the Roman (with overflow, Mezzanine), followed by the brief program.

The luncheon menu starts with a Pear and Pecorino Salad with Frisee, Escarole and Walnuts, a choice of three entrees, and a dessert of Torta di Nemesis Flourless Chocolate Cake with Hazelnut Gelato. Entree choices include Pollo Arrosto, Roasted Chicken with Garlic, Lemon, Rosemary & Roasted Seasonal Vegetables; Lasagne Verdi Bolognese Spinach Pasta with Bechamel and Meat Ragu, and Vegetarian “Chef’s Choice.” The meal includes coffee, unlimited soft drinks, mineral waters or iced tea and coffee. The price of $95 (New York City prices!) includes 20% gratuity, taxes, etc. This is not a fundraiser! $95 is the direct cost per meal.
David Randolph says he is looking forward to what for him will be an experience that, at age 94, he has not yet had the pleasure of: being in a roomful of like-minded freethinkers!
Dan and Annie Laurie look forward to meeting New York City-and-environs members (and seeing old friends). It is those "New York City" prices that have prevented the Foundation from having a convention or mini-convention in New York City in the past. This may be possibly the only FFRF event the Foundation has the pleasure of holding in New York City!
To make your weekend a complete freethought experience, plan to attend David Randolph's concert the evening before at the sumptuous Carnegie Hall. The Saturday, April 18 spring concert he is conducting at Carnegie Hall with the Chorus will feature the works of two freethinkers: Brahms and Vaughn Williams. The April 18 concert, beginning at 8 p.m., features Brahms' "Schicksaslied," and Vaughan William's "A Sea Symphony." Register on your own to attend concert and find more information here:
