Lake Hypatia Advance
A Message from Pat Cleveland, Director
Dear Freethinkers and Friends,
This communication will serve several purposes regarding Lake Hypatia Freethought Hall. If you have questions, please give me a call on the office line (256) 761-1105. The 20th Annual Celebration at Lake Hypatia Freethought Hall will begin on July 3rd (Friday) at 10 am with registration. Hot dogs and goodies will be served at Wanda and Jonathan's campsite, Veggie hot dogs are also served. Wanda and Jonathan met and fell in love at Lake Hypatia and we are pleased to have the opportunity to share their company. Terry and family, our regular and popular porterhouse crew, will cater the Friday evening meal, Saturday noon salad bar, and dinner meal, and the Sunday brunch. June 24 is the deadline to mail to get in on the meals (All meals are vegetarian friendly). The chapter had to charge the actual cost of the meals this year due to going over budget last year.
The July event is the only fundraiser the Alabama Freethought Association has. We do not charge membership dues and thus far have operated on donations. I'll remind you to continue the contributions that enable us to operate. Thanks to everyone for helping AFA survive for 20 years. We appreciate your donations. Please make checks out to:

I want to give a big thank you to Annie Laurie Gaylor and the FFRF staff for the assistance given to Alabama Freethought Association. They help us get the word out about our July Celebration. You may register for the July 3, 4, 5 celebration through FFRF at 1-608-256-8900. You can also use Paypal or your credit card to register for the July Celebration including your meals, or pay your membership dues. The attached information is current (You may register late on arrival but the meal count must be in by June 24). The program begins on Friday, July 3 through Sunday, July 5. Join us at Lake Hypatia Freethought Hall to celebrate our 20th year. Just a reminder that parents must be with children if they use the lake.
The Alabama Freethought Associations extends a special invitation to veterans and "Atheists in Foxholes." We want to gather in Fearn Park and give our gratitude and recognition. For our records, we'll do a count of the youngest and 'elderest' "Atheists In Foxhole," tell your fellow freethinking military friends. We're looking forward to meeting you!
Have a safe trip to Lake Hypatia and you will have a good time here.
