Action Alert! Alaska Airlines Still Pushing Prayer

Object to Alaska Airlines Urging Prayer in the Air

October 21, 2009

Members have complained over the past 30 years about Alaska Airlines offending non-Christians and nonbelievers with Christian paraphernalia during flights. Over the years, FFRF has sent letters of complaint and urged members to act as well. Once again, with the Seattle convention approaching, a member asked us to protest proselytizing prayer cards on Alaska Airlines flights, a main airline serving the Seattle area.

Please help educate Alaska Airlines about the fact that many of its paying customers are not religious, or prefer other religious teachings, and are greatly offended at being forced to see these Christian prayer cards (see picture on right) when they are paying exorbitant fees to travel on the airline.

If travelers want to pray, they can do so without the behest of a commercial airline! In fact, it does not inspire confidence that airline officials feel the need to pray during flights!

Please be sure to mention if you have ever used the airline or plan to in the future. Inform them that you prefer secular flights and have no problem switching to another airline to obtain this. For maximum effectiveness, write as an individual and not as someone responding to this action alert.
